SHIMMER
The climb, in one knob
How much of the tail goes back through the pitch shifter on every pass. 0 is a plain hall; at the default 40 % a note's octave rings as loud as the note in the tail; at 100 % it climbs 9 dB over it. The line under the knob reads PLAIN HALL, SOFT CLIMB, HALO or CASCADE.
SIZE
From a 1.2-second room to a 12-second wash
The hall's decay and its pre-delay together: 1.2 to 12 seconds, with the reverb starting up to 60 ms after the note. The default 60 % is a 4.8-second hall, long without washing out a vocal. The knob reads the decay in seconds.
INTERVAL
Octave, fifth or an octave down
OCTAVE climbs 12 semitones on every pass, the classic. FIFTH climbs 7 for a brighter, chordal halo. LOW falls an octave for a dark glow under the sound. A change glides instead of clicking.
BLOOM
Let every phrase swell in
Each new phrase fades into the reverb over up to 2 seconds, so the shimmer rises behind the sound instead of starting on its first note, the way a volume swell does. After a pause it resets for the next phrase.
TONE
Dark to glassy
The reverb's high cut, from 1 kHz through 8 kHz to 15 kHz, with its low cut moving the other way. It works inside the shimmer's loop too, so a darker setting also shortens the climb.
FREEZE
Hold the tail forever
One key: the reverb holds what it has and takes in nothing new, so you can play over a frozen halo. Press it again and it fades away naturally. Automate it to hold the last chord.

The same shimmer at any level
The reverb's send is levelled and compressed 4:1 before the hall, so a quiet take and a loud one ring the same, and the tail comes back at your input's level. Your dry sound is never touched.

At SHIMMER 100 % the climb becomes a long wash that dies away on its own, and a limiter keeps the reverb under -1 dBFS. FREEZE is the endless hold.

What is a shimmer reverb?
A reverb whose tail climbs in pitch, usually an octave, every time it goes round, because a pitch shifter sits inside the reverb's own loop. The tail rises into a bright, organ- or string-like halo above your sound.
How do I get the classic shimmer sound?
Load Glisten: Init is the octave shimmer in a 4.8-second hall at 40 % mix. For a huge ambient pad try Pad / Atmosphere Pad; on clean electric guitar, Guitar / Anthem Guitar or Guitar / Clean Electric.
Can I use it on vocals?
Yes. The Vocal presets keep it a light halo behind the words (SHIMMER 30 to 35 %, MIX 25 to 30 %), and Vocal / Phrase Bloom lets each phrase swell in. Turn SHIMMER up for a vocal pad.
Can the shimmer go on forever?
Press FREEZE: the tail holds for as long as it is on and nothing new gets in, so you can play over it. SHIMMER at 100 % on its own is a long wash, up to about 30 seconds at SIZE 100 %, that dies away by design, so it never runs away.
Can I get a fifth or an octave down?
Yes. INTERVAL chooses OCTAVE (+12 semitones), FIFTH (+7) or LOW (an octave down, a dark glow under the sound), in one click.
Can I play guitar through it live?
Yes. It adds no latency, so you can play or sing through it in real time.
Does it work in my DAW?
